Mr. Ibrahim Nasreen (Nattu) is a highly regarded figure in his field, boasting a distinguished career and an impressive educational background. He currently works at Public Service Media (PSM), heading commercial and marketing. In addition to his professional endeavours, Nattu also serves as a part-time lecturer in many of the colleges, FHTS (MNU), VILLA, MAPS and CYRYX.
Nattu possesses a strong academic foundation, holding a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Service Innovation from the esteemed College of Innovation at Thammasat University (CITU) and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Limkokwing. His academic journey resulted in a thesis focused on advancing the Maldivian tourism sector and positioning the country as a premier destination. His research, titled ‘The Development of Innovative Service Experiences to Maintain the Maldives’ Position as a Luxury Tourist Destination,’ reflects his dedication to elevating the nation’s tourism industry.
His academic excellence has been acknowledged through prestigious awards, including the 2015 Boeing Masters Student Research Award, which he received for his exceptional thesis. He received the honor at the 2015 Travel & Tourism Research Association (TTRA) Annual International Conference in Portland, Oregon, USA. His commitment to academic leadership and accomplishment was further recognised when he was named a recipient of the JCI Maldives awards in 2016, under the category of “Ten Outstanding Young Persons.” In recognition of his outstanding performance in academic research, innovation, and creativity, Nattu was honoured with the Maldives President’s Medal by President Abdulla Yameen on Republic Day in 2016.
As a dedicated and forward-thinking individual, Nattu has always been passionate about the environment and nature. He believes the urgency of addressing environmental challenges is more apparent now than ever before.
As Nattu joins Maldives Ocean Plastic Alliance (MOPA) as a board member, his experience and expertise will play a pivotal role in advancing the organisation’s mission.
