Huravee School Empowers Young Artists to Tackle Plastic Pollution in Art Competition

Hulhumale’, 5th November 2023 (Sunday) — Huravee School, in collaboration with MOPA, has successfully concluded a thought-provoking art competition, titled ‘Life With Plastic, Not Fantastic.’ The competition aimed to inspire students to express their concerns about plastic pollution through art while encouraging environmental awareness.

This event saw young artists from Huravee School passionately participating in the competition, using their creative talents to convey the pressing issue of plastic pollution. The theme, ‘Life With Plastic, Not Fantastic,’ challenged students to delve into the effects of plastic pollution on our oceans and find artistic ways to address this global problem.

The competition culminated in the selection of 12 outstanding winners whose artworks eloquently conveyed their commitment to raising awareness about plastic pollution. The winning pieces will be featured in the 2024 calendar, amplifying the message of environmental consciousness throughout the year. The artworks were prominently displayed in a captivating exhibition allowing the broader community to appreciate the students’ talent and dedication.

In addition to the art exhibition, a special assembly was held at Huravee School, where Moobeen Jaleel from MOPA delivered an inspiring speech. The speech not only highlighted MOPA’s ongoing projects but also underscored the critical importance of plastic pollution awareness and its devastating consequences on our oceans.

The competition and assembly received enthusiastic support from students, teachers, and the local community, emphasizing the shared commitment to combat plastic pollution and protect our precious marine ecosystems.

The success of the ‘Life With Plastic, Not Fantastic’ art competition and the assembly exemplifies Huravee School’s dedication to fostering environmental awareness and inspiring the youth to become champions in the fight against plastic pollution.
